Clueless!!!!

As I make my way into the Third Trimester, I was wondering if you all could help me out.  I went to the book store the other day to find some great reads for FTM (First Time Mom's).  Unfortunately, I was very overwhelmed.  If I read every book they had, it would take me until my child is 18 years old.  I don't have time to read all of them in the next 3 months.  I am looking for a list of about 4-5 books that are MUST reads before baby gets here.  My sister gave me "Baby Wise" and I recently heard "Health Sleep habits, Happy Baby" by Marc Weissbluth is a good one.  I would love all thoughts and suggestions on any book that would be good for me to read.

Thanks!!!!

  1. I think BabyWise is your best bet. That's the only serious book I read & I feel like it helped me a lot. Don't stress yourself thinking you have to know everything. I read a couple of fun books: Belly Laughs & The Girlfriends Guide to Pregnancy. Both were fun reads & good tips.

  2. We liked Baby Wise. But I also really, really, really liked Happiest Baby On The Block.

  3. I read a ton of books and surfed the internet a ton before Isla was born. One thing that I will tell you about all the books is that none of them will work 100% for your child. Skim through them, decide what methods and approaches you like and would be willing to try, and go from there. A lot of it is trial and error. Every kid is different and something that works for one may not work for another. I do know that I liked some of the babywise methods, but I would never give up the time that I spent holding Isla while she slept. And she is a great sleeper now!!

Good Luck Jade!! You and Marc will be awesome parents!!
