I am about knee deep in wedding planning; so many chooses...
Invitations- shimmer, matte
Music- live band, DJ
Bridesmaids dress- strapless, tea length, short, 3/4 sleaves
Cake- pipping, 3 tier/5 tier, colors, square, circle
Floral- roses, white/red, color ribbons, rinestones/no rinestones
Food- chicken, steak, both, beer, wine, both
There are 3 things I am sure of though... I got the venue, the dress, and the man! That's all I really need to make my perfect day. I wanted to ask all the married women/men out there for any advice you can offer. Things you wish you would have done or didn't do. Any changes you would have made to your one special day? Not so much about the details I mentioned above, because I know all that seem like huge details but in 10 years I won't be able to remember half. Really anything would be nice though. Think about to your wedding day, what was most special? What things will your tell your childern to do or not to do. I have read many books but I think asking my friends/family would be the best! I would really appreciate any insight.
Thanks in advance!

Get a great photographer that will take lots of candid shots!
ReplyDeleteMy number one piece of advice is to have a videographer to capture the entire day! When I was planning, several people told me their video was cheesey so I didn't think it was necessary. Looking back, I would LOVE to have footage of everything! I would love to hear what was going on during some of my favorite pictures. I would love to see our faces and hear our voices during our vows, first dance, send-off, getting ready and everything throughout the night! I also think finding a DJ or band that is visible enough to make the night run smoothly but someone that doesn't steal the spotlight. A trend that's caught on recently is picking a color/fabric and letting your bridemaids choose the style that is most flattering to them. Last piece of advice... ENJOY EVERY MINUTE OF IT! Don't let the little details stress you out and remember in the end, the only thing that truly matters is you will be married to your love!
ReplyDeleteI agree, our wedding video is one of my favorite things. We did a choreographed first dance and it was so much fun. I think you are already doing that though.
ReplyDeleteAll I know is you are doing a typical "jade" job which translates into....AMAZING, above expectations. You keep on using your processes and your wedding will be all you want!
ReplyDeleteI would make sure the groom is well taken care of with snacks and sports. Scientists did studies and found that this makes for the best wedding experiences!
