Help… I am having a party!
Hey everyone!
(The last 3 post I haven’t had any comments, so I am not convinced anyone actually read this…but anyway…)
Marc and I are having our first Christmas party on December 19th. If you are in the Austin area, you are more than welcome to come! I need ideas on what I should make/buy. I would love to have a good recipe of your favorite dish at parties. The invitations say “Drinks & hors d'oeuvres ”. I need some major help to insure this will be a successful party and not a major disaster.
Here’s all I got so far:
Food-
1.) Queso and chips
2.) My grandmothers little sausage things
3.) Apple Pie and homemade cookies
4.) Aunt Sally’s green bean bundles (Marc’s special request)
Drinks-
1.) 3 bottles of red wine
2.) 2 bottles of white
3.) Stuff to make cosmos and apple martini’s
4.) Beer
Please let me know what else I should make. Also, we are thinking it will be around 15-20 people. How much alcohol do I need? Will 5 bottles of wine be enough? Should I get anything else? Any help will be greatly appreciated! Thanks.
My Cup is half full, what about yours?

Jade-
ReplyDeleteThese are my 2 favorite Christmas desserts & are always a hit. Use if you want!
Mini Cherry Cheesecakes (very festive looking)
1 can cherry pie filling
Aluminum foil cupcake liners
Box vanilla wafers
2-8 oz. Pkg. Cream cheese
1/2 c. Sugar
3 eggs
1 tsp. Vanilla
Place liners in muffin tins. Put one vanilla wafer in each. Round side up. Next beat cream cheese (at room temp.) Then add sugar. Add eggs one at a time and vanilla. It should be soupy. More like cake mix. Pour batter into liners, a little more than half way up. Bake at 350 degrees for 17 minutes or until the edges turn a little brown. (Actually I don't like mine to do that because they get too dried out). Let cool. Dot cherry pie filling on each cake.

over the butter and press in pan. Layer coconut, chocolate chips,
Pecans. Pour Eagle Brand milk over top. Don't mix. Bake at
350 degrees for 30 minutes.
Your party will be a blast. Keep it simple so you can enjoy the party as well. It sounds like you have a good array of finger foods. Below is the recipe for some delicious sandwiches. My friends eat them up. My favorite holiday drink is a glass of champagne and Razzmatazz. Pour a tiny bit of razzmatazz in the bottom of the champagne glass and then fill w/ champagne. YUM! It is always a big hit at our X-mas party.
ReplyDeleteHawaiin Sandwich Rolls:

Cut rolls in half and arrange in baking dish or two with the bottoms of the rolls on the bottom layer. Evenly place a piece of ham on each roll bottom. Top ham with shredded swisss cheese. Place the tops of the rolls onto the sandwiches.
Mix together in a seperate bowl the second half of the recipe. Brush the tops with the entire mixture. Bake uncovered at 350 for 20 minutes.
I don't have any suggestions for ya, you've got it under control. Sounds lovely, wish I could come!
