Hot off the press

I am so excited to tell everyone about my wonderful weekend. Thursday night Marc told me that Friday we were headed to Las Vegas. We had been looking for a while and he told me that he got a last minute deal, so I didn't think much of it. He had booked 2 nights at the Venetian Resort and Casino. Friday he showed me all around the city, we went to see the Gondala's at the Venetian Hotel and Statue of Liberty at New York, New York Hotel. We ate dinner on the top floor of the Stratosphere at a restaurant called "On Top of the World." On our way back we walked to the Bellagio to see the fountains at night. Then we walked over to the Mirage Hotel to see the exploding volcano show. It was an amazing night. When we got back to the room I opened the door to see the floor covered in rose petals, a dozen roses, chocolates, and a bottle of champagne. Marc and I sat down and he held my hands and looked into eyes and told me the significance of these beautiful places in the city. Here is what he told me: Gondola Ride – these boats were first made in Italy in the 1800’s. First construction of the boats also included a “closed cabin” called a fezle. These fezles were used for shelter from weather and provided safety from enemies. As a symbol of my love to you, I want you to know that I will always be your fezle. Statue of Liberty – obviously this is one of the most impactful and recognizable icons in the USA. It truly is the rock of the United States. Much like this Statue, you Jade, have been the rock and foundation of our relationship. I believe in you and everything that you stand for. I secretly try to follow your ways and wish I could be a better person like you. I hope that together we can serve as each others foundation to build a happy and loving life. Top of the World - This symbolizes the fact that you are the top of my world. For over the last 2 years, you have been in my thoughts, my prayers, my ups & my downs… I promise that you will always be my number one priority and that there will never be anything that will take your spot. Bellagio Fountains – The symbolism of the fountains is truly amazing. Water portrays the abundance of possibilities and the ability to move with every happening. I feel that so far our relationship has had both good times and not so good, but you and I are like water, and I hope that we can always be flexible and weather out the storms & successes that we face. Mirage Volcano – Finally I think that the volcano symbolizes the fire & passion that I have, and that I will always have for you. I think you are the most beautiful girl I have ever laid my eyes on. Both your insides & out are amazingly wonderful. Every time I see you a good fire begins to rumble and it’s sometimes hard to hold back the passion Then he got down on his knee and pulled out the most beautiful ring I have ever seen in my life. I am so lucky to have such a wonderful fiancé. (Man, that is soooo cool to say.) Marc, thank you for being you! I am so lucky that God has put you in my life to stay.
